Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it

There are so many places I want to see. So many cultures and civilisations I want to experience. The whole world, if I could ever be so lucky. But everybody has a place they think of when people ask them about their home. For me, that place is Lake Rudyard. It’s a place I love to go walking, come rain or shine. It’s so familiar and yet so different every time I visit.

I’ve photographed it throughout the changing seasons, but one thing stays the same. The everlasting, tranquil beauty and a great poet’s famous name.

Rudyard Kipling’s parents courted each other at the lake. They loved it so much that they lent the name to their first-born child. I’ve looked over some of my photographs of the lake and its surroundings, so I can share them with you. It may not be one of the great wonders of the world…
